Statue of Liberty is a symbol of freedom and democracy. It was given to the United States by France in 1886 as a gift to mark their friendship. But it wasn’t until 1885 that plans were made to construct the statue on Liberty Island.
The statue itself is one hundred feet tall, weighs more than 100 tons and stands over 105 feet high (the height includes its pedestal). The copper-covered torch weighing nearly 30 tons was cast by Paul Revere & Sons in Boston. It was shipped across America via rail carriages pulled by horses or mules!
If you’re looking for a place to visit in New York, the Statue of Liberty is an obvious choice. The statue was designed by Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi and dedicated on October 28, 1886. The statue’s meaning has changed throughout history. Originally it was seen as a symbol of freedom for all people. But now it’s more commonly associated with immigration and immigration reform.
The most famous part of this iconic piece is its torch (which looks like an eave). Which gives off light when illuminated at night. This part can be removed from underneath the pedestal so visitors can climb up into it from below if they wish!

The Ellis Island Immigration Museum is located on Ellis Island, a small island in New York Harbor. It’s most famous as the point of entry for immigrants to the United States from Europe and elsewhere.
In its heyday (1892-1954), it was home to up to 12 million immigrants who were processed through by U.S. Officials before being allowed entry into America or sent back out of it. Today, only around 10% of those who passed through here actually made it onto American soil. The rest were sent elsewhere by ship or plane depending on where they were headed. But even those who didn’t get off at Ellis Island still had their records stored there until. They could find their way across America again later down the line!

Central Park is a public park at the center of Manhattan in New York City. It was established in 1857 on 778 acres of city-owned land. The park’s area is 843 acres, making it one of the largest parks in New York City. And second only to Prospect Park North (Brooklyn) in size.
The history of Central Park can be traced back to the Dutch concept of “canalization”—as early as 1644. When the first settlers arrived from Holland, they put down paths for their horses so that they could travel quicker through their new home. This led them onto what would eventually become known as Fifth Avenue South. Once there was more land available than needed for farming purposes, homeowners began building homes along its banks. Where they could enjoy nature views while being close enough to walk home from work each day!
It is one of the largest urban parks in the world and covers approximately 400 acres (160 ha), including water and valleys within it.
The park was conceived by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux. Their designs for what would become Central Park were completed between 1857 and 1859 after winning a design competition from an open submission process with more than 100 entrants. A review by The New York Times called “the most beautiful city in America” also praised its “originality” as “it’s not just another green space like others around town—but something you’d have to go see here if you lived anywhere else.”
The Guggenheim Museum is named for Solomon R. Guggenheim. Who established the museum with his wife, Olga (who was also an artist), in 1937. It’s housed in a modern building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. And has a collection of over 40,000 works of art from around the world.
The museum itself is divided into five galleries that showcase different aspects of contemporary art: architecture; crafts; design; photography; and painting & sculpture. You can learn about these categories through exhibits such as “Art in Embassies” or “The Art World.”
The Times Square is an area in the middle of New York City, where it all happens. The most famous square in the world, it is home to several attractions, including Broadway theatres. And some of the most popular shopping malls in America. It is here that you can find hundreds of people walking down sidewalks at any given time, along with vendors selling everything from hot dogs to souvenirs. Times Square is also considered one of the largest pedestrian plazas in the world due to its size and popularity among tourists visiting New York City during holidays like Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve.
The Empire State Building is a 102-story landmark skyscraper in New York City. It’s the second tallest building in the Western Hemisphere and sixth tallest in the world.
The building was originally proposed by William Lamb. Who was working for Equitable Life Assurance Society at their headquarters at 711 Fifth Avenue. He wanted to build a skyscraper taller than any other then existing in New York City. But he ran out of money before he could complete it. So, he sold his plans to an investment group headed by John Jacob Astor IV (the great-grandfather of actress Brooke Shields).

The Brooklyn Bridge has two towers on either side that support nearly 2 million pounds of ironwork each! The towers are connected by iron beams called “floats” that stretch nearly 200 feet above ground to connect them securely (without falling down). These floats are made out of steel reinforced concrete. Which makes them stronger than ordinary bridges could ever be made if they weren’t supported by their own weight too! They’re even strong enough to withstand heavy winds so there won’t be any damage done. When they’re hit by lightning storms like they did back when construction first started up again after World War II ended.
